Embody Stories

I am who connects mission, vision, and practice. I help people to tell their own stories. My methods encourage remembering your own story. Only through this kind of reflection can core values be learned. Being misaligned will take your journey places to confirm you aren't where you need to be. Why chose to continue the violence, when we can learn another way?Unlearning violence gives us space to hear ourselves. It gives us space to be heard and healthy. Audre Lorde told me "Poetry is not a Luxury".

I am a lifetime of lessons and blessings neatly packaged in all that a Black Woman can be. My story is universal. My voice is, too.

As an award-winning author, poet, and community conduit, I've found art to be integral to health and healing. Art is inclusive, makes use of whatever is at hand, can be individual, group, or a gathering. It compliments clinical modalities. It can satisfy our need for creativity and accomplishment. Art demands curators, performers, and reverancers.

Our stories are sacred. Embodying our own stories sets us free. That's how we get healthy. Narrative health is more than engaging both sides of the brain. It puts story at the forefront of healthcare.

As a Narrative Health Practitioner, I help you see your bubbles. I help you see your beauty. I help you heal your story. I help you see yourself as more than a machine. You are both cause and effect. You are both influenced and influencer. You are more than the reductive labels of diagnosis and disease. You are an integral part of a community that needs to know how to support you to your best self. Embodying stories holds space, listens closely, gives voice, and faciliates freedom.
